G. Donald Golden, Esquire
Mr. Golden earned his Bachelor
of Science in Accounting from the University of Maine and his Juris
Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Upon moving to Florida,
he began his career working for a small law firm in the Brandon
area and focused on representing debtors in consumer bankruptcy
cases under both Chapter 7 and Chapter 13. He also represented
clients in front of the Social Security Administration in Disability
cases. Next, he accepted a position as the chief litigation associate
with the law firm of Feinberg, Isaak and Smith, d/b/a Debt Relief
Legal Centers. In this position he represented debtors at '341
Meetings of Creditors and in all Contested Matters and Adversary
Proceedings. Following his stint with Debt Relief Legal Centers,
Mr. Golden continued to gain experience in consumer bankruptcy
by joining the staff of Terry E. Smith, Standing Chapter 13 Trustee
for the Middle District of Florida Tampa and Fort Myers Divisions.
As a Staff Attorney for the Chapter 13 Trustee, Mr. Golden presided
over '341 Meetings of Creditors, represented the Trustee at Chapter
13 Plan Confirmation hearings as well as other Bankruptcy Court
matters.
Currently, he is the principal of The Golden Law
Group and continues to practice extensively in the area of consumer
bankruptcy. In 2004, Mr. Golden became Board Certified in Consumer
Bankruptcy Law by the American Board of Certification. He also
lectures on consumer issues in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 at continuing
legal education seminars for attorneys and paralegals.
Mr. Golden resides in Brandon with his wife Tamara
and their children Andrew (Drew) and Ella. They are members of
St. Andrew's United Methodist Church in Brandon. He is also actively
involved with the Brandon Chamber of Commerce, the Brandon Bar
Association, the Hillsborough County Bar Association and the Tampa
Bay Bankruptcy Bar Association.
James W. Elliott, Esquire
James W. Elliott is an associate attorney
with The Golden Law Group. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Elliott
served as a judicial extern with the Honorable Stephen D. Gerling
of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District
of New York. Mr. Elliott has also completed internships with the
Cato Institute in Washington D.C., as well as the James Madison
Institute in Tallahassee, Florida. A native of Tampa, Mr. Elliott
is a proud graduate of Jesuit High School, where he was a member
of the state champion soccer team. He holds a Bachelor of Arts
degree from the University of Florida, a Master of Arts degree
from the Florida State University, and is a member of the Phi Kappa
Phi Honor Society.
Mr. Elliott completed his Juris Doctor degree
at the Syracuse University College of Law, with a certificate of
concentration in corporate counsel. While in law school, Mr. Elliott
served as an Articles Editor for the Labor Lawyer, the journal
of the American Bar Association Section on Labor and Employment
Law, and was an active member of the International Law Society
and the Corporate Law Society. |
